I had bolted this line in 2010 but due to my shoulder injury couldn’t try this tempting piece of rock last winter. Finally conditions were cold enough so one could climb on this south-west facing wall. I was desperate to get on the route because the moves looked crazy, featuring overhanging crazy moves on pockets, crimps and even (a) tufa!
I had bouldered the moves once before, but winter time made the sun set surprisingly early and I couldn’t look at the upper part of the route. That day after the party went surprisingly well and I immediately got to what I thought would be the crux. It turned out that my assumptions were right and the upper part is relatively easy. Again, the sun was gone sooner than I wanted it to and I had to wait for it to rise again to give it my final go and send the project.
Here are some impressions of what I believe is one of the best climbs in the Grazer Bergland: Dirty Thirty!
